The Payroll Administrator will process biweekly payroll, provide oversight of employee time records, manage the collection, recording, and sharing of employee payroll-related information, perform audits of payroll and time data, interface with HR and Finance staff, and communicate solutions and answers to employee questions.
Utilize ADP WorkForce Now to enter, maintain, and/or process information such as employees’ hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses, or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholdings, address changes, and other information.
Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
Monitors compliance with federal and state payroll regulations.
Reconciles payroll to the general ledger and monthly bank statements.
Performs biweekly audits as a post-payroll review to evaluate payroll processing cycles and determine need for adjustment and from time-to-time processes special payrolls to correct errors.
Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
Work directly with employees on reimbursements or recoupments for under- and over-payments.
Records and processes federal and state payroll tax deposits as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Associates Degree in finance, business administration, or a closely related field preferred. Associates degree may be exchanged for a high school diploma and an additional year of experience.
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business administration is strongly desired.
Minimum three years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping with at least one year of experience in payroll processing of a company sized 500+ employees
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
As Sciolex Corporation achieves more growth, the Payroll Administrator has potential to evolve to the Payroll Accountant position which will oversee and supervise the payroll functions of Sciolex Corporation, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. As an eventual Payroll Accountant, this person will hire, train, and oversee junior staff in the Payroll department and will oversee the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of subordinated staff and will provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
